Siemens launches Tessent IJTAG Pro for faster parallel hardware testing

Siemens Digital Industries Software announced Tessent IJTAG Pro software, which will transform IJTAG (IEEE 1687) input/output by enabling parallel operations of the traditionally serial operation and provide read and write access to custom hardware. The new software introduces high-bandwidth internal JTAG (IJTAG) and generic data streaming functionality to help customers reduce test cost and time by accelerating data using the wide bus of Siemens' Tessent Streaming Scan Network (SSN) software.

The semiconductor industry is experiencing rapid changes as transistor density increases across multiple dimensions. As designs evolve from 2D to 2.5D and full 3D IC architectures, testing challenges have grown significantly. Higher test pattern counts, longer application times, increased ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) costs, and limited access to test pins make optimizing existing infrastructure essential for scaling tests efficiently and supporting the design process.

The features in IJTAG Pro, together with Siemens' Tessent AnalogTest software, expand the available capabilities and bandwidth.
